Hey, Terolians...
Every once in a while, another old comrade pops up. [info]marigold_tales was the most recent...

But another one found me. Anyone remember a human named Rikara, or a Canoid named Lyisa/Liisa? Rikara had two dogs and a horse, which is how I remembered her...

Go say hi if you want. ^_^ Or Rikara could always spot this post and come wave at everyone. We have a couple folks still around - Seleth ([info]poetrywolf), The Five Deaths ([info]tageera), Kain/Majhiik ([info]vorpalmuse), Reeshinu/Tunder ([info]collie_wing), and a few others.

EDIT:

I miss Terole. I'm really wanting to give the Renegades of Terole another shot - any RPers up for the challenge and have the time to spare? It'd be a small game, with plenty of creative license, and a bit dark in theme. Basically, a tiny guerilla force fighting legions of conquerors for revenge of their mutilated world. Any (sci-fi-ish) species goes. KEKKS? What say you?

Any and all RPers would be welcome, of course, but I'd be loathe to give the place a kickstart without at least most of the core group. (For those who don't know, KEKKS is Kay/The Five Deaths, El/Reeshinu, Kitty/Seleth, Kain/...Kain XD, and Sushi/Redwood. Needless to say, I'm in, and so is Kay so far...)

OH MY GOSH. Would I find time for Terole? DO DONUTS HAVE HOLES? I think you know the answer, deep in your heart. ;)

Anyhow, I indeed shall go say hi to the ol' Terolian. :D It would be poor of me not to! ^.^

*slightly embarrassed* *mumble* I'm not exactly an old comrade. I used to just kind of silently worship you before your geocites (or whatever) site went down.

I could try rp-ing. xD But I don't remember much about the world [Terole] and stuff, so. Also: I haven't rped really in, like, two years. So, I am very rusty.

Anyone who used to set literary foot (or paw) on Terole is an old comrade in my book. ;) That said, who did you play, old comrade? I'm curious to see if I remember who you are. ^^

Um, that's the thing. I never did do anything. I never roleplayed. That's why I wonder why I'm being called "an old comrade"... o_O I just kind of watched around the sites and stuff. (sorry to disappoint.)

*grins* Oh heck yes. I also would opt to throw out there that it be done via an LJ community, if people would be up for such, simply because we're all relatively active here, and thus it would more likely stay alive if updates pop up on our friends lists. If we wished we could make character icons etc... I kind of like pretty pictures. <_< Just a little. *innocent, but very excited, look* Would we just pick up right where we left off with the Renegades plotline? Or revamp it a bit? Thoughts? Opinions? /glee?

Four of five! Rockin'. ^_^! I figured you'd be in, mri'sai.

Personally, I like the Renegades plotline/concept, though we could start afresh with everyone, given our last beginning was over two years ago... And some folks may wish to switch up their choice of characters. (For example, I reread the old posts and gods Januya is infuriating to be around...)

An LJ comm would be just fine - or we could go with the Voy forums again, and I could do a quick but efficient redesign of the site, now that I actually have some sk33lz. My only concern with an LJ comm is that you can't easily separate posts into "areas" per se, but on the Renegades site, we only really had two "areas" anyways... So that may be only a trivial matter.

We can always throw up a couple polls to grab folks' opinions on how to proceed...

Tell me, where can I find more regarding this Terole? I started with D&D, did some Rifts and starwars, and then got thoroughly sucked into Whitewolf. As old an rpg'er as I am, this Terole is new to me.

Terole is a world of my own making, part of the Tri-System along with Lavana, one of my primary worlds. Terole is a barren, rocky, dry, scorching hot, generally inhospitable wasteland with only a strip of habitable land along the Tropic of Nankampi. It has no native sentients, so a few Lavanians set up an outpost there early on. Over time, passing traders, fugitives, criminals, and whatnot began to add to the population, making it a thriving black market and a multispecies, deeply layered society. (To get a better picture, you can find some Terolian stories here.)

The World of Terole was a freeform RPG carried out on message boards, back in the day. Essentially, anyone could create any species they wished, as technological or even magical as they wanted, and come to Nankampi City to live out their lives as traders, fugitives, mercenaries, law enforcement, or whatever they wanted. It was extremely loose in form and focused around character development, culture clash interaction, and a few overarching city-wide plotlines. It lasted two years and garnered over 200 members at one point - and produced over three hundred original species. It died of OOC inactivity; the IC war that Terolians had been fighting against the invading force of the Drakka was lost.

The Renegades of Terole was a brief attempt to restart the game and relive the nostalgia of the original. Only five people were there - KEKKS, essentially - and we all seemed to run out of time and/or muse pretty quickly. The concept behind the restart was guerilla warfare against the conquering Drakka, who had essentially destroyed almost everything near Nankampi, taken all the useful goods, and left naught but ruins and rust behind. Thousands of Drakka had established military encampments and bases along the tropic and seemed to adapt well to the harsh conditions of the desert world. However, a tiny group of survivors came back to Terole via portal (a sort of phenomenon/entity native to the Tri-System - it's not just a magic spell or whatnot), established a well-hidden stronghold, and were about to start harrying the Drakka in whatever ways they could manage-- when the game kinda went kerput.

That self-same concept is what I want to use again for Attempt #2 at kickstarting the Renegades of Terole. Like the original, any species goes, but it's a much more dangerous and violent scenario than the first. Any creature, any tech level, any ability can get there via portal and join the Renegades. Some veterans are there for the long haul; some newcomers are just now learning what it means to always be on the losing side of a war long ended.

And it looks like four of five KEKKS is in (the fifth may not have time, but she's considering it), plus one or two extras, which is plenty to go ahead and restart. Renegades was never meant to be as huge as the original game; five active, creative people is all we need to run with it. ^_^

You are more than welcome to come play, if you'd like. I'll be setting up an LJ community and working with the former initiator of Renegades ([info]poetrywolf, aka Redan Bane, one of KEKKS) to smooth out the introduction, get some information up for any newcomers...

And then the battle begins anew. I'm excited.

Hmm, color me impressed. Followed some links earlier. Been reading Dark Wars in the spaces between since then. I likes it, and can already feel that familiar tickle in the back of my brain saying, "New character concepts...". I should be cross at you, you know. It's not as if I don't already have too much to do, and you tempt me thus? = ~;^=

Now then, since you've posted much more in the way of background in your latest entry, I'll just be slinking off to do some research and figure out how to fit this into my schedule...
