Species and Characters-- Species = kat'ni & Links. Kat'ni are colorful humanoid bipeds, tall and lean with slight fangs and long, sharp fingernails ("nailclaws"). Links are cheetah-shaped, massive felines that can soulbond with a kat'ni upon hatching, are insanely fast, and can actually speak the kat'ni tongue aloud as well as telepath with their Linked and fellow Links. Mother Links (think queen dragon) are rare and dominant; large males are the caste that runs them (meaning competes for the Mother in mating races); small males and females don't reproduce but race more often and are more plentiful. Characters are Miya, a young kat'ni, and her small female Link, Girrassa. Mentioned are Sanna, Chu'ton Mother-Linked, with her Rissanli; Baran with large male Tarrassi; and Ckara, the Chu'ton healer, with small female Pettalla.
Summary and Notes-- A snapshot of life after Linking. Absolutely no plot.

Okay, there's my daily dose of cuteness. ^^;; But I didn't accomplish what I wanted to in this ficlet, so I may try again very soon.

Species and Characters-- Species = kat'ni & Trotters. Kat'ni are colorful humanoid bipeds, tall and lean with slight fangs and long, sharp fingernails ("nailclaws"); Trotters are highly intelligent raptor-like predators that come in two breeds: earths (biggest to smallest: white, black, brown, blue), sturdy and dependable beasts that are fairly easy to train, and metals/metallics (b2s: gold, bronze/copper, iron/steel, silver), volatile and rebellious beasts that are difficult to train but fiercely loyal and dangerous. Specifics characters are a young blind kat'ni and a youngish silver Trotter.
Summary and Notes-- Demi-drabble slightly inspired by Dragon's Kin by Anne & Todd McCaffrey, set in Cadora. A kat'ni is told he needs sight to raise and ride a Trotter, but he doesn't believe them.

I could feel the heat off her skin, hot enough to burn, even though my questing hands weren't close enough to touch what I was told was a gleaming silver hide. The little chuffs and deep-throated gurgles that she voiced warned me that she wasn't happy with the command to stay still, and I still wasn't quite sure why one of the most dangerous and independent beasts in Cadora had even considered listening to a child like me, but I wasn't going to waste this opportunity.

I took a tiny step forward, listening to the dying autumn leaves crackle underneath my bare feet, and heard the air part noisily as she moved her muzzle, probably to look at me. My heart was pounding in my chest, leaving me breathless and flushed, but I finally felt sun-warmed flesh under the tips of my fingers. The silver Trotter twitched at the touch and edged away, but I took another step forward and placed both hands flat on her body. The sculpted muscles underneath the thick, tough, yet strangely soft hide flexed, and a grin split my face at the rich feeling. "You're so warm," I told her in a delighted whisper, and she answered me with a liquid growl in my ear and an airy snort in my face. "And you smell like raw meat," I added, barely able to hear myself over the blood rushing through my ears. "Please, be patient. They tell me I can't ride because I can't see, but... couldn't a Trotter be my eyes?"

The raptorine was silent and still for a moment, almost as though she were trying to understand what I'd said, and I slid my hands across her flank, feeling the slight ripple of ribs under the wealth of lean muscle, rubbing my thumb over a deep scar just behind her shoulder. She didn't move as I held my breath, both hands shifting to explore her haunch and then down her long hind leg, the pads of my fingers dancing gingerly across the smooth, hard lengths of her talons that dug into the loamy soil so firmly. I rose from my crouch then, tracing the line of her body, sense of touch alive and almost electric as I followed the length of her forearm into a paw-hand of long, lean fingers and wickedly curving claws. She snorted in my hair, breath warm and dry, as I gradually felt the depth of her chest and traced her proud, arched neck--and then my hands cupped her lower jaw and felt the clumps of muscle and bone. She ducked her head forward and I felt bared teeth scrape at my scalp, not drawing blood, and I traced two fingers only along her lower jaw before hesitantly stroking the flattened top of her long, wedge-shaped snout. "You're beautiful," I murmured, running the tips of my fingers over her eye-ridges, which flexed minutely in some facial expression that I couldn't see but still understood.

She snorted, and pulled away, and I felt my palms and fingertips tingle with the heat they had absorbed from her softly-textured hide. "Thank you," I whispered, bringing my hands to my face to warm my cold cheeks and nose. I listened as her paws pounded the earth as she left, the leaves crackling and soil shifting under those heavy talons, and for a moment, I almost thought I could see her. Then, I couldn't hear her anymore, and all that was left was the heat in my hands and the picture imprinted on my mind.

Rating and Warnings-- PG for gore/wounds; warnings for implied slash and bestiality. =O_O= omgnu, ebul animalxhuman!
Species and Characters-- Species = keril & half-demon half-human. Keril are quadrupedal predators found on Cadora, sentient but tribal in nature, who can use a mild form of telekinesis to build a touchable illusion around themselves and thusly pass as "humans" or human-formed demons, whichever would suit the occasion. Characters are Sekar, a female keril, and Leli, a human-demon hybrid. Leli is an Ayshu [elite "good" ninja, trained to oppose the "evil" Subishi (order vs. anarchy)] and Sekar is an Ayshu Ally [non-Ayshu yet trained alongside Ayshu to an extent and considered equals, whereas all others fall into the People (to be protected) or the Enemy/Evil/Subishi (to be fought/destroyed)]. Sekar is notoriously independent and keeps up a facade of aloofness.
Summary and Notes-- Just a brief scene taking place after one of many battles where Sekar and Leli were forced to work together. Tee hee.

We are illusory. You can see us and touch us, but there is always the question--is what you see and touch the illusion or the reality?

The question is easy to answer. If you see and touch what looks human, then that is the illusion. Yet sometimes, we wonder, we ourselves get confused... is it the beast within or the man without that is more real? When we are forced into interactions with demons and humans who fear or hate the beast, when we never reveal our true selves... what are we, really? Are we beasts, or are we men?

Summary and Notes-- I generated two Cadorians from this generator and saved them, knowing I could do some fun stuff with them later. This is the fun stuff later part. XD. Just read it--I can't do a summary without giving too much away. ^^;;

Species and Characters-- This is set in Cadora and involves a kat'ni (colorful/tall/thin humanoid) and a demon (who, in this case, appears in human form with elemental powers). No official chars. :D
Summary and Notes-- Written in response to the Room of Generators challenge on genworks -- 1,326 words. *grins broadly* My generated room was "Unholy Sea Serpents' Hold" -- I mean, who could resist a story involving that? :D

These are so funny (and they come from here). Note--the "characters" are Sachi, white Wolf Shifter female, and her companion Rittu, Wolf Shifter male. They have a loooong history together, but we won't go there. Since I still refuse to consider myself a fanfic writer for reasons unbeknownst to the world. XD. (Rittu and Sachi are from a crossover of my own Wolf Shifter universe with the DBZ-verse. Hence the mentioning of a Saiyan... *grin*)
